Meeting was called to order at 19:00 by Peter Degan, Local President, who chaired the meeting
with a quorum of 30 members and Paul Attard, OPSEU Staff Representative, in attendance.
The following Agenda was read out by Peter Degan;
Local's website
Explanation of the purpose of and the ongoing progression of the website. Greg Barber doing a
fantastic job of administrating site. Briefly talked about email registration. Potential offerings and
request to members for content. Please send ideas to admin@opseu584.org and visit the website at www.opseu584.org.
Online
membership forms suggested by Warren Dodds. Action required to see if digital signing is
acceptable by OPSEU instead of signature.
Peter Degan updated the Local as to current status; going to arbitration February 1, 2010 at 10:00 and
will let members know as to status afterwards. Peter pointed out that there had been no contribution to
the grievance from the wastewater plants, only the water treatment plant.
Local executive met with OCWA on Nov 4 2009 to discuss South Peel reclassification. The government
has not provided approval for reclassification to proceed.
Paul Attard discussed 'Special Case Submissions' – Investigate job descriptions from other unions and
their pay rates to compare job classifications.

Pension contribution increase
Peter Degan briefly discussed new contribution increase.
Peter mentioned that there were some technical issues that had to be resolved such as;
Mervyn Fernandes is in hospital and as such he would be made an alternate as the employer was
adamant that the LERC only consist of 5 members. They are:

2.Allan Campbell
3.John Douglas
4.Henry Misiorowski
5.Andrew Dixon
The setting up of ground rules had yet to be worked out with OCWA, Corporate
Supplied Local with hard copies of CBA
Described MERC in detail.
Membership
As of December, 2009 now have 120 members. Was pointed out how Local is financially reimbursed
by OPSEU for it's membership
Treasurer, Angelo Magnifico read out the current finances of the Local.
Glen White suggested a possible action item would be to share the O&M document with members
Lorne Park Union Board installed in Nov 2009
Welcome new member to Local, Eric Coulomn from AMOSS on Skymark
Motion carried to create a Social Committee with Mike Reinhart as chair.
Meeting adjourned at 21:30 to reconvene at next quarter.
